It Happened - Quietly

Daughter, on top of her voice, shouted, “Ma, you know, the other day, I caught Baba red handed
with ....with ” a wink on the eye, making faces.

“What are you talking about? Focus on your studies “, I snubbed back.

Wife, from kitchen joined, “Is it?”

Volley - back and forth, continued.

“Next time you notice, please make sure, I am called” commanded my wife.

Morning after, facing the mirror, while shaving, I noticed the inevitable.

With a sigh, I accepted.

I have started aging – should I assume gracefully?

The white streak of hair  presented itself quite quietly.

    1. Thanks, Swathi. Good to know you liked it. Yes, I tried with the style Mrs. Sreeja presents her 100 word stories.

  6. Nice story; good twist.

I started going grey when I was 19 or 20 or thereabouts and now around 80% of my head is grey. Having grey hair in your youth, a prevalent trait in my family, is seen in my community as a very good thing. Out in the city people either give me hair colouring advice or whisper that "that old woman has aged very gracefully," LOL, but back in my village, where I now live, a lot of young people sigh with envy. A very interesting cultural divide.
